Timber
We choose quality hardwoods from well managed sources for all our conservatories and orangeries. It is
a pre-requisite that the timber is knot free and extremely durable.
Glass
All door, window and roof glazing is safety glass as standard
conforming to BS 6206. Double glazed units consist of two
leaves of 4mm toughened glass with a 16mm air gap.
Alternative glazing options
Low-emissivity coated glass, to improve the overall thermal
efficiency of the double glazing. Anti-sun glass, to provide
shading for the conservatory in direct sunlight. Available
in grey or bronze. Laminated glass, to reduce the effects
of ultra-violet light, improves security and sound insulation.
Ironmongery
Premium quality fittings are used throughout our conservatories and orangeries. Finish options
include Polished Brass, Polished Chrome, Antique Black and
Patine. Multi-point bolting systems are fitted to improve
security along with locking handles to the opening sashes
and doors.
Ventilation
All our conservatory and orangery roofs are designed with maintenance-free, purpose made
vents. These can be manually or electronically operated (which
can be automatically controlled with rain and wind censors).
Opening windows are normally top hung on heavy-duty stainless
steel friction stays, enabling them to be opened to any position
without the use of a stay bar.
Finishes
All joinery goes through three grades of sanding; coarse,
medium and fine. The timber used in our conservatories and orangeries is then treated with a waterborne
primer and two spray coats of microporous paint giving the
equivalent to six brush coats. A full range of colours and
stains are available.
Warranty
J.R.Willoughby Conservatories & Orangeries Ltd is constantly reviewing materials and
construction details. Our specification is subject to continual
improvements. All work is covered by our comprehensive five
year guarantee. We do ask that the building is fully completed
to our approved standards and is properly maintained.
